Life with Fibro

Living with a #fibromyalgia patient is heavy, exhausting, heartbreaking. Especially when you don't know it's #fibro. It all changes after the diagnosis, a ray of light, faith and hope finally show a new picture: future.

The many symptoms that manifest throughout the years, made think about a massive inflammation process, an immune system that tried to fight itself, and a number of well known diseases like celiac disease, lactose intolerance, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and muscular dystrophy, yet after numerous tests none of these diseaseswere found in my daughter.

I became a medical investigator myself, researching, trying to isolate food that mede the symptoms worse, producing concoctions with herbs and spices, to reduce inflammation and pain. It just seemed that everything was helping and yet nothing appeared to be the solution.

Every time it looked like we'd conquered the symptoms, a new ailment popped up out of nothing!

Food

We soon noticed that food had a massive impact on the symptoms, but it was not easy to keep track of all the old and new ailments, and cross referencing with the latest meal was not always enough to give some evidence of correlation. I was trained to care for young kids in all aspects of their life, including nutrition and dietetics, and I had a vast experience as a Chef, which helped me hugely in my crusade against #fibro.

To help her better I took classes and studied more in depth the chemistry of ingredients, the transformation when cooked, the combination with other foods, the technology of food, and a number of aspects I had never considered before.

The reactions to the different sorts of food were quite evident, and it was also helpful getting here moving: sports like swimming and Karate helped a lot keeping her mobile and conquering stiffness.

Floating in the water gave her peace and weightless feelings that helped soothe the pain, whilst the muffled noises worked as a calming lullaby.

With Karate she learned persistence and discipline which both contributed to keep her mental sanity in her worst moments.

Relief

The relief of a Diagnosis, at the age of nearly 24 gave some peace of mind, new hope, certainty. It has excluded numerous other somehow worse illnesses and given us some clarity on how to fight the syndrome.

The next natural step for me was getting trained as a Hypnotherapist and as a Master Coach, and take the 20 years of experience with my kid, condense them in a program and help other #fibro_fighters out of their pain, brain fog, gut issues, inflammation, fatigue and so on.

My daughter finally feels better, she has a job, and she has a future. It still feels a bit unreal, and often she kind of "misses" her condition, but with some help, some hypnosis combined with NLP techniques and soft coaching, this too will pass.
